How to Manage stress

All people face stress, whether they are willing to admit it or not. College students face a lot of stress that they feel that they are often drowning in. This blog will explore and debate on ways to help manage stress.

Here are a few things i have found to cause stress among college students:
1. peer pressure (to party)

2. too many assignments due at once
3. a major paper due within a few days

4. an exam tomorrow that you feel unprepared for

A few things that result from stress:

1. drug problems

2. health problems

3. social problems (declining friendships)

4. lack of sleep causes emotional problems

Here are a few ways i have found that help me manage my stress:

1. taking a walk to relax
2. working out at the local gm

3. relaxing with friends

4. taking a nap or catching up on needed sleep

5. taking a break from the work load

6. doing something you like to do instead of school work
7. Read for fun
8. exercise

Stress was defined by timethoughts.com as "a physical, mental, or emotional response to events that causes bodily or mental tension."

I have faced stress many times, especially throughout college. Whenever i procrastinate( as i often do) i find myself stressed out and feeling overwhelmed by the task at hand. Often, i have many things that must be done and i feel like there is no time to complet them. Most college students face this. As a result, students engage in behavior that is not necessarily healthy (overeating, drinking, lack of sleep).

Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
